Spongebob Movie – Game Giveaway

spongebob game

In my house, we have one iPad. I was really excited when we got it because I thought it would make a lot of things easier for me. Well, after a few years of iPad ownership, not much has changed. I still prefer to do most of my work on my laptop. But my kids…well, it pretty much changed everything for them. They can spend way too much time surfing games, playing games, and messing around with Photo Booth. So, in one way it did make my life easier. I can use it to occupy them in a pinch.

Since they are the iPad game experts around here, I had them play Sponge on the Run to check it out so I could share something about the game for you. My younger son just loves it. He is a huge Spongebob fan anyway. My older son approached the game with a more critical eye. “It’s just like Temple Run,” he said on first launching the app, but he quickly got into it and reached levels of accomplishment that I will never see. What? I played the game too. But I suck at it. Still, it’s fun! Spongebob has grown on me over the years, so I enjoy flicking his little weird body around the screen collecting coins.

You can suck at it too while your kids rock it – Paramount has given me 5 free game codes to give away. I won’t make it hard for you. If you have a Spongebob fan who is also a game-player, just leave a comment on this post and make sure your correct email address is entered. I’ll give a code for a free download to the first 5 commenters (one per family please).

Bikini Bottom fans can venture off the beaten path with the all-new SpongeBob SquarePants game, SpongeBob: Sponge on the Run, based on the upcoming The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, in theaters February 6.  In the app, SpongeBob and Plankton are racing to find the lost Krabby Patty formula in 3 seaworthy locations including Bikini Bottom, Apocalyptic Bikini Bottom and a real-world beach.  When he is not running, SpongeBob is flying past obstacles with Plankton’s jetpack, floating in a bubble through a coral forest, racing through Bikini Bottom in the Patty Wagon, or has Plankton jumping through his surreal imagination.  When the running gets tough, SpongeBob gets heroic as he transforms into Super SpongeBob.  The new upgrade allows SpongeBob to knock through any obstacle in his way without risk.

I received a download code to facilitate this feature and giveaway.

Block Party This Sunday at Malibu Country Mart

IMG_6244

Malibu Country Mart will turn into a street fair this Sunday, August 11, at 2:00, with a Summer Block Party just like the ones in your old neighborhood. You know, if your neighborhood was right near the Pacific Ocean and your neighbors were Ralph Lauren boutiques, 7 For All Mankind, and Mac Cosmetics.

The already lovely shopping destination and adjacent family park will host activities and attractions including a photo booth, tarot card readings, a petting zoo, balloon art, and face painting.  Multiple food vendors will be positioned around the Mart and will offer complimentary carnival treats such as cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes, churros, sno cones, candy apples, and ice cream. There will also be live music.

To cap off the day, bring your blankets and low chairs for an 8:15 outdoor screening of The Goonies. Nice way to ring in the end of summer. For more information check out Malibu Country Mart’s Facebook page.

FREE Movie Tickets For The Little Red Wagon

Free tickets to the first 5 commenters below.*

You know you need a break, Mom or Dad.  Short days at school.  Holiday parties for work, school, sports teams and friends.  Shopping, meal planning, Christmas-tree buying, and more and more every day.

What if you could haul your family to the Regency Theater and veg out for an hour or so while your kids watch a movie that will not rot their brains or make them want you to buy the toy that goes with it?  What if it inspired them to help others?

Lucky for you, The Little Red Wagon is that film, and it’s playing NEXT WEEK right here at the Regency in Agoura Hills, AND I have 5 sets of tickets for my readers!

The Little Red Wagon is the story of Zach Bonner, a 12-year-old boy in Tampa, Florida who started a crusade to help children left homeless after Hurricane Charlie hit the area in 2004.  From getting food and water to very needy families, to walking from Tampa to the White House to raise awareness about homeless children, Bonner’s efforts have helped thousands upon thousands of children.  He now runs The Little Red Wagon as a nonprofit to help underprivileged kids.

The movie was produced by local filmmaker Dr. Michael Guillen, who has been making appearances at elementary schools to help spread the message that Bonner started 8 years ago.

I dare you not to cry during this movie. You’ll probably want to take a nap, but hopefully you will be moved to act, even if it’s just to take a bag of nonperishable groceries to a local food pantry to help our needy neighbors.

The first five people who comment here will win a four-pack of tickets to see the film during its limited local run December 10 – 13 at the Regency Theater in Agoura Hills. Just make sure you enter your email address so I can contact you directly and the tickets will be mailed to via priority overnight mail.
