The Dime Picnic: a Wine, Beer, and Food Festival

The Dime Picnic

The people who brought the SIPurbia Wine and Beer Festival to Paramount Ranch are back with a new plan: a “daycation,” if you will. The Dime Picnic, with tastings of local wines, beers, spirits, and food, will be held at a private estate in Hidden Valley on October 14. But this time, there are only 1,000 tickets to be sold!

Ticket prices are $100 each for the first 100 tickets, and $200 each for VIP (only 50 of these available). All tastings AND food are included in those prices! Spoiler alert: there’s a discount code at the bottom of this post!

Where’s Hidden Valley? Well, it’s so hidden that I had to Google it: it’s basically across Potrero from Westlake Elementary School. In other words, a beautiful area for guests to mingle with friends, check out the vendors, and enjoy live entertainment.

This is good news because SIPurbia was so much fun. Allow me to tell you about it in pictures:

A gorgeous location

Cute photo booth

For a good cause

Interesting (and tasty) vendors

…and friends around every corner.

In case you hadn’t noticed, sundresses both short and flowing, flowery jumpsuits, and hats were the most common fashions seen at Paramount Ranch that day. So get your tickets now, and don’t put away those stylish summer digs yet. It’s bound to be nice and warm in October in The Bubble.

The even better news is that if you use the discount code AHM25 when you buy your tickets you’ll get 25% percent off! That is a great deal! Pass it on, friends, and I’ll see you in October. I might be wearing a floppier hat. The cowboy hat makes my head hurt, even though it’s cute.

It’s Back! Agoura Munch Madness

I was bummed that I missed this event last year, but as of this moment I have it scheduled in for our family to attend. I so rarely get to partake of the mobile yumminess that comes out of LA’s fleet of food trucks. And here they are, coming to The Bubble.

For a full menu of fun for the whole family, don’t miss AGOURA MUNCH MADNESS, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Agoura High School from 11:00am to 6:00pm with more than a dozen of LA’s top gourmet food trucks, live entertainment, a dance & fitness presentation, the Munch & Crunch contest (In your face entertainment where patrons “munch and crunch” to the fastest finish (no hands or eating utensils allowed!), face painting, prizes, and more. Kids will especially love the “Slice Truck” and “King Kone” Truck. It’s all happening at the campus of Agoura High School and proceeds benefit their International Baccalaureate program for students. Admission is just $5 in advance or $7 at the gate. Kids 4 and under are free. Food truck tastes sold separately. Get your “munch on,” find out more and buy your tickets today at

Food Trucks Come To Agoura Hills During Agoura Munch Madness

Okay, so it took a high school fundraiser to lure the food trucks to Agoura Hills.  Forget the hungry mouths, desperate for gourmet treats on wheels because we hate to drive east of Calabasas.  Whatever the reason, I’m just glad I’ll get a chance to sample their wares, and so I’m saving my pennies for November 13 when the Agoura Hills International Baccalaureate Program holds Agoura Munch Madness – a collection of LA’s food trucks in the parking lot of the high school, accessible with a $5 pre-paid ticket or $7 the day of the event.  Crap, I’m hungry already.
