Juice in the City Ventura Launch and Giveaway Blitz

I love a good coupon. I’m not an extreme coupon mom, but I do feel that missing feeling when I show up at Ralph’s without my coupon book. I mean, why by cereal at $3.79 a box when I can get $1.50 off? That’s just stupid.

And so I love the coupon deal websites that send me half price haircuts or 75% off a mani-pedi. The problem is, my email in-box is filled with deals I’ll never use: either they are for things that don’t appeal to me or locations that are simply too far away. (See my last post – I’m a commuter snob now.)

Well thank goodness someone has seen the problems there and jumped in to fix them. Naturally, it’s a bunch of moms.

Juice in the City is a deal network that sends out a deal every day for a business that is close to you. You buy the coupon and you can use it for six months. No worries about a minimum number of people participating. No rush to get the deal before everyone else gets it. The deal is available for the whole day, and you just buy it. The end. And if you somehow don’t get around to using your coupon until after the six months is up, you can use it same as cash for the amount you paid for it.

Every deal is sourced by a local mom, and vetted by the JITC team to make sure it’s a great business that has what we want. And I mean local: starting Monday, Juice in the City is in Ventura County!  Later this year they’ll be expanding to Calabasas and surrounding areas, too.

I am delighted to have Juice in the City as my first local business partner.  I always meant for Agoura Hills Mom to be a locally focused site that highlights the businesses we use and helps me discover new things to do and places to shop and share them with my neighbors.  On top of allowing me to do all that, JITC gives me the chance to share discounts with you.  And for next week, to celebrate the Ventura County launch, I’m giving away $25 credit EVERY DAY to people who can follow directions.

1.  Go to Juice in the City Ventura County and subscribe for their email deals.  You WON’T be disappointed.  Their deals just for their first week alone range from heavily discounted bowling to purses!  Simply click here and enter your email address in the box at the top for Ventura County deals.

Family Outing: Cheesboro Canyon Hike and Dinner at Ladyface Alehouse

As the sky darkened, our family headed out for a short hike at Cheesboro Canyon.  Although rain threatened and a chill had settled into this Sunday afternoon, we had been cooped up in the house all day and needed some fresh air and exercise.  An easy walk up to the summit of the first hill rewarded us with this view.

Our fair city is snuggled in the valley below.

On the way home from our hike, Agoura Hills Dad wanted to grab something at the Do-It Center, but once we got near we realized the time and knew it would be closed.  We’ve both been wanting to try Ladyface Ale Companie Alehouse and Brasserie, so I called ahead from the car to make sure they allow children, and we ended up there.  The beers made on the premises were a tasty post-hike treat, and the children’s menu is typical but pleasing.  Kyle loved the chicken tenders so much that I asked for the recipe, via Twitter, and received!  I’ll blog that home cooking adventure in a future post.

And look, everyone’s happy.  We will certainly return to both sites.

Gosh, I love it here.
